German Deli iMBiSS @ Ara Damansara

Having a German sausage deli smacked right at my neighbourhood is truly GOD SENT! If you were to follow my foodie blog adventures for a while, you'll know I've this constant craving for these fat juicy Bratwurst, sausages and cold cuts. *salivating*.

The man behind the counter looks abit like this guy painted on the wall... Mmm..I wonder if he's the owner of this place.

Smoked duck breast sandwiched in between two pieces of warm bun for yours truly.. RM15++

XT had their Hawaiian chicken ..."bah, I don't remember the name" sandwish. It was equally good and look at the number of cold cuts inbetween the buns! RM9++

"Miss Bratwurst Queen a.k.a ME" will NEVER leave this place without sinking her mouth on some bratwursts. This time around, we tried the Currywurst. The bratwursts were juicy and the gravy was not spicy at all, it tasted like spaghetti sauce. RM12++

Dining here isn't cheap considering these are only "snacks" to us Asians but hey! cold cuts, smoked meat and bratwursts are NEVER cheap isn't it?

J. Co Donuts

I grew up eating donuts covered with sugar and I never liked this fried dough even when I was a little girl. Let me tell you guys a secret. I usually sell the content of my lunch box to the rich kids in school so that I can buy the food I fancy from the school canteen during primary school days hehe... Well, I remembered selling off my donut for 20 cents to get myself a bowl of hot assam laksa. With the 10cent pocket money mom gives me, I can get myself a piece of 'fu chuk' or 'fried soybean sheet' to soak up all the sourish soup. Yums!

Lately, I realised there's an epidemic going on in Kuala Lumpur. Everybody is talking about J.Co. People actually queue up at these donut shops and they were seen coming out of the queue with a big smile on their face and dozens of donuts in their hand. The curious cat in me wanted to find out what's the big fuss about these donuts. Why do people want to queue up for 30 minutes just to get these fried flour?!?

I went to the Sunway Pyramid outlet very early in the morning and I was surprised to people queuing patiently waiting for their turns. I joined the queue and in less than 10 minutes, it was my turn to make my decision. I wanted only 1/2 a dozen and they've like more than 10 choices to choose from! Decisions...decisions... decisions.... Finally, I picked my 6. I took Heaven Berry, Glazzy, Mochabella, Alcapone, Choco banana and Miss Green T.

I took a bite on these pretty babes and realized what I've been missing all these while. The dough was so light and it wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be. Good job for bringing in J.Co from Indonesia and well, thought I'm still not a big fan of donuts, I would say these donuts are just simply irresistibly delicious!

Anybody interested to bring in Krispy Kreme donuts to Bolehland?

Organic Vegetarian Gyoza

Remember some time ago I wrote a review about this organic shop? I discovered something really really nice at their restaurant.

VEGETARIAN GYOZA

MYR1 each and there's 15 pieces in a box. The skin is made of wheat flour.
Steam these raw gyoza for 20 minutes in a steamer.
(Remember to oil the plate before you lay those gyoza on it because I didn't and it sticks to the plate when it's cooked!)

When it's cooked, remove gyoza from the steamer and brown them on a grilling pan.

Serve gyoza hot with organic black vinegar and young ginger

Here's how the inside of the gyoza looks like.

Cuttlefish with a squeeze of lime

The minute sister saw packets of "Ken Ken" cuttle fish at our local grocers, she gave me a cheeky smile and grabbed a few packets into our cart. During those days when we were little girls, we do not have many varieties of snacks or you modern moms labeled these treats as "Junk food". We love to starve save up some coins so that we can buy these 'forbidden' snack from our school canteen behind mommy's back! ngek ngek...

Ken Ken cuttlefish changed their packaging

Cuttlefish soaked in lime juice *slurps*

When nobody's watching, we'll pluck mom's lime from her garden and usually we harvest the entire plant (ripe and unripe ones!). Squeeze them onto our packet of cuttlefish and enjoy behind close doors. Mom used to wonder where has all her lime gone. There's no sign of caterpillars chewing on the leaves but the fruits vanishes on its own..hehe. Luckily my grandma who was 'once a strong believer' didn't call in a Priest to cast garden demons hehehe.. ;) "Sorry ma, it's the girls!"

TGIF potato skins in a bag?

Have you tried potato skins at TGIF? Do you like it? Well, *guilty giggles* I DO! I was doing my groceries shopping at Cold Storage last weekend and as I walked along the cold cuts section, something caught my eye. POTATO SKINS in a TGIF look-a-like bag. I grabbed a bag, read the name of the packaging.... *T-G-I-F Potato Skins Snack chips* "Yayyy!" ... I told myself, without a second thought, I grabbed a bag and chuck it into my shopping cart.

I rushed home to XT with the bag of potato skin. We opened up the bag to reach for a piece of 'skin'. How does it taste?...I love the thickness of the cut, it's salty, it's cheesy, it's crunchy, it's just so heavenly...In fact, the skins were so *Yummy-guilty-licious* I've developed a love-hate feeling towards this bag of evil snack that day... *duh*

Kampung Kacang Putih, Ipoh

I just came back from a "fruitful" trip back to my hometown-Ipoh [a land surrounded by mountains and full of beautiful girls, ugly ones just like me migrated to Kuala Lumpur for good]

If you love murukku or "Kacang Putih", remember to drop by at Kampung Kacang Putih during your next visit to this small town. The minute you arrive at this village, the aroma of Indian spices and freshly fried murukku will fill the air because basically every household there makes and sell these goodies at their own homes.

Here are some photos taken at one of the village homes cum murukku factory.

A home converted into a murukku factory.

We bought from this house because the appearance of the house looks clean.

The living room was converted into a kitchen.
Here's a photo of the murukku fryer.
Psst...I've checked the oil, it's clean hehe

The lady boss was packing the goodies I requested.

They've rows and rows of gigantic packets for small business and exports...

To small little ones for snacking-monsters like me..

Alrighty, my murukku's ready to go.
Everybody in the office who's reading this...
you'll get a pack each tomorrow ;)
