Mother's day feast @ Lobsterman, SS2

Hey sexy!

Almost a year ago, I celebrated X-T's birthday at Lobsterman @ SS2 Petaling Jaya. We think the food was great and therefore, this year, we've decided to celebrate Mother's Day, Mom's Birthday and sister's Birthday here again. It was a 3-in-1 celebration because 3 celebrations are only a week apart.

The cutleries...Almost similar to the ones I saw at the destist tray. *shivers*

Appetizer#1 :Baked mussels. Fresh muscle but taste wise..Ok saja lah!

Appetizer #2: Baked Escagot. Yummies!

Spinach soup. Abit too starchy. Could be better!

Superstar#1: Shelter's Garlic Lobster (Hong Kong Style) THE BEST!!!

Superstar#2 : Tarragon Butter Baked (French style). Not bad at all..

Superstar #3 Braised Lobster Yee Mee (China aka Chinese style). Yumzzz

Fuity cup for dessert. It's complimentary..I've no complains :p

Zen Japanese Restaurant

Ahah! My parent drove all the way to KL today to celebrate my birthday "a few weeks earlier" to remind me I'll be blowing off 3 fat candles this year! Sis made reservations at Zen for the 5 of us at one of my favorite Japanese restaurant!

What's a celebration without food eh? I shall let the photos do the talking..

The appetizers

The sashimi

Our main course.

*If you're wondering why are there 5 of us and only 4 main dishes...? Well it's because I prefer tasting the food from everybody's tray and oh by the way, I had the whole dragon roll to myself ;p"

Green tea ice cream dessert

Sister said she had a terrible stomach ache after meal and return to the restaurant 15 minutes later with a birthday cake! What a surprise! My last birthday cake was like 9 years ago!!!!!

The food was simply marvelous and we had a great family get together. NOooooo, today's not my birthday... as of today....I'm still 29! Ok?! *winks*

Happy Father's Day!

Dad..
How could I forget..
You called me your little angel
Your hugs and "spiky" moustache
The bedtime stories
Your smiles even after a stressful day
The little treats everytime you return from your business trip
The big firm hand holding me during my visit to the dentist
The little jokes, the comforting words and assurance a father could ever give to his little girl..
I love you!
Your eldest princess,
Sher

Out of Africa Restaurant & Kudu Bar

The moment I tell parents that we're going to a restaurant called "Out of Africa" to celebrate sister's birthday, I see two interesting expressions:-

Mom gave me the sour grape grin and said... "Aiyor, have to eat all those wild animals one ar, I cannot one lar, do they serve seafood fried rice? Dad was pretty adventurest...he said "Wah good, can eat lion, tiger.....do they serve elephant meat too? What about crocs? Hah!

As for darling X-trail... what else? Africa = Ostrich to him!

The Starters

We had Jungle Salad & Potato Skins... I forgot to take a photo of it...we were all TOO HUNGRY after waiting nearly 30 minutes for our starters .... *ROAR*

Our next starter, 1/2 doz. sizzling snails baked in garlic herb butter sauce. Haha...you should see mom and dad's eyes watching three of us sucking the snails dry...

The Mains

Mom ordered Cape Seafood Platter. One of the best in town I would say!

Dad was a little disappointed knowing that Elephant ribs are actually beef ribs ...he had Oudshoorn Roast Ostrich Oven roasted Ostrich filet with mixed mushrooms, ginger crisps & red wine sauce. Something's not right with this dish!...He ordered WHITE RICE to go along with the Ostrich... erm...looks abit like "Charp farn" (economy mix rice) isn't it?!?

The birthday girl ordered Zuri Duck Van der Hum. It's actually pan seared duck breast with orange sauce flavoured Van der Hum, a South African orange & ginger liqueur with mash potatoes...YUMMY!

The fan of big bird ordered 200gm of Ostrich Fillet each. Mine was with black pepper and dearie's was showered with red wine sauce.

The Cocktail

Here's my glass of Tequila sunrise.. So-so only.

Happy Mother's Day

Mum..
When I was a little girl,
You've set rules and I thought it was cruel,
I knew that I still need to obey
As I was afraid to hurt your heart ...

As a grown up lady myself today...
I can still recall the daily little conversation you had with me since a child....
Be modest in my daily actions, humble, respect, to love unconditionally and to be strong
...........your words of wisdom has lead me well in handling my life's hurdles which I never imagined I'll go through later in life

Mum...
I want you to know that you're appreciated
Not just today but EVERYDAY....

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

With love,
Sher

The preparation for the Fete

Thank God for a great sister who's willing to wake up super early just to help me with the marketing. My dining area was turned into a mini groceries store that day :)

Baked some rich butter cakes to be given away to my lovely guest.

Jelly boiled with love :)

My stuffed turkey. Ready to sweat in the oven for the next 4 hrs.

Here's part of the menu.
How could I forget to take a photo of the heart shaped pate sandwiches the cakes and the stew!Grrr..
It was a little tiring having to work on the gathering for almost 2 whole days, thanks mom, sis and my maid for being the best kitchen helpers!
At the end of the day...looking around the house during the party and seeing all my love ones surrounding me during Christmas was indeed the greatest gift of all...
I hope you had a great Christmas too!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!

Our First Christmas (II)

The (un)planned candlelight-less dinner @ Bee's place

We actually celebrated our little Christmas at the Brazillian Restaurante last weekend but oh well...since there's always a reason for us to celebrate..haha! Here we go again.... grill chicken with Swiss mushroom.

That's my man eating...gotta crop the face off or else..I'll get sued by him ;p

****************

Dinner's served, what's next?

It was truly the size of a briefcase...that comes with a little white handle.

Initially I thought it's a DVD player..or even a PS2.
