J. Co Donuts

I grew up eating donuts covered with sugar and I never liked this fried dough even when I was a little girl. Let me tell you guys a secret. I usually sell the content of my lunch box to the rich kids in school so that I can buy the food I fancy from the school canteen during primary school days hehe... Well, I remembered selling off my donut for 20 cents to get myself a bowl of hot assam laksa. With the 10cent pocket money mom gives me, I can get myself a piece of 'fu chuk' or 'fried soybean sheet' to soak up all the sourish soup. Yums!

Lately, I realised there's an epidemic going on in Kuala Lumpur. Everybody is talking about J.Co. People actually queue up at these donut shops and they were seen coming out of the queue with a big smile on their face and dozens of donuts in their hand. The curious cat in me wanted to find out what's the big fuss about these donuts. Why do people want to queue up for 30 minutes just to get these fried flour?!?

I went to the Sunway Pyramid outlet very early in the morning and I was surprised to people queuing patiently waiting for their turns. I joined the queue and in less than 10 minutes, it was my turn to make my decision. I wanted only 1/2 a dozen and they've like more than 10 choices to choose from! Decisions...decisions... decisions.... Finally, I picked my 6. I took Heaven Berry, Glazzy, Mochabella, Alcapone, Choco banana and Miss Green T.

I took a bite on these pretty babes and realized what I've been missing all these while. The dough was so light and it wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be. Good job for bringing in J.Co from Indonesia and well, thought I'm still not a big fan of donuts, I would say these donuts are just simply irresistibly delicious!

Anybody interested to bring in Krispy Kreme donuts to Bolehland?
