The #1 new year resolution most people will make at the end of the year is to lose weight. When it comes to January, when they're at their most motivated stage, they lost 1-2kgs. Gained back the weight by February and by March, they would've lost their motivation to go on because not only they've regained the weight they've lost in January, they actually gained 4kgs hah! Sounds familiar? Alot of us had experienced the "yo yo" weight at least once in our life time. Don't worry, I've good news to those who are still eager to lose the extra pounds. Tripped, fell and cried like hell...

My dad converted our home garage into a kitchen for mom when I was around 5 years old because she asked for a bigger kitchen. Dad did everything that was needed to convert his greasy and dusty garage into a nice kitchen except for one thing- the concrete garage floorsI love to run around mom's 'new' kitchen barefooted on the cracked concrete garage floor and end up bruising my knees and elbows because I tripped and fell! I cried, I was consoled and in minutes, I'll forget about the whole incident and continue galloping in the kitchen. *Kids*!

Today, my mom's kitchen floor is still the same. Cracked, oil stained and the surface is so difficult to clean. I think it's time to get a a new kitchen floor soon.

Garage Cabinets

I used to think that storing my books and all my old stuff in boxes is a good idea. I labeled all my boxes properly and stacked all of them inside my bedroom. Well, I was wrong! Two weeks before I left for my vacation, mom asked me for a Peranakan recipe and I remembered I stored that particular recipe book in one of the many boxes. It took me 30 minutes just to retrieve one single book that evening because the box where my Peranakan recipe book were stored was sitting right at the bottom of the stack. Guess what? The whole stack of boxes fell on me! Ouch! How inconvenient and what a mess! I found a better way to store my junks and old books in a neat and organised way. I'm going to install garage cabinets in my garage soon and all my junk will be hidden behind nice closed doors.

Money Magic Morgages

You've been hunting for your dream home. You were basically driving around town and reading the classified section in the daily newspaper line by line everyday just to hunt for the best house with the best deal. After months of price comparison, you've finally found yourself the ideal home for the family. If you think your stress is over? THINK again...

To me, the stress has just begun. I'm not talking about the interior design of your home or the renovation you're about to perform. I'm actually talking about the morgage you're about to take. Every financial institution you walked in will tell you they are able to offer you the best deal but honestly, how do we know which one is really giving us the best? I believe before we make the decision, an independent professional Mortgages advisor could come in handy to guide us in making the right decision before signing the dotted lines.

Young people no longer enjoy financial freedom...

Do you agree with me that most young people these days are in great debts at a very young age. The minute a young chap graduates and earn his or her first paycheck, they will start their first major investment by purchasing a car. Be it a new or a second hand car, vehicles in my country cost a bomb and most of the cars were purchased through loans taken from banks with a high interest rate.

Soon, he or she will start a bigger investment which is to own a house. With a salary merely enough to place a shelter above one's head, this young chap has increased his bank debts by purchasing a home with a minimal down payment. Interest rates on loans taken from financial institutions are high and usually the price of your home will end up costing 3 times it's original price after the repayment period!

So, if you're really interested to take Home Loans from a bank, I would suggest you compare the interest rates carefully for the best interest rate before you commit yourself into getting a loan.

I signed up for PPP!

When I signed up for PPP months ago, to be frank..it was just for fun. Back in my mind, I was thinking I'll be really lucky if I'll earn at least USD10. What I'm going to buy? Well, at that point I was thinking of getting myself a domain. If there's still some loose change, maybe I might consider buying myself a bag of sweets to keep me awake while I'm blogging at night. As days goes by, I was surprised to see that my earnings has periodically increased and now I'm on my way to redraw my first four digit pay cheque via Paypal! Cool huh?!

Since I've joined PPP, my network of friends has increased tremendously. How did that happen? Well easy. As I write reviews on products by my sponsors, my readers will start asking me questions like 'WHO' is my boss and 'HOW' did I get to write such reviews for all these great products and services on my blog. My answer to them? Just get yourself a blog and start writing for PayPerPost.

So, by introducing blogging for money opportunities to my fellow readers, they too became bloggers themselves and started to earn their first USD10 for a start. Today, most of them are actively blogging and most of them are even earning more then me haha! Anyway, through blogging and introducing people to blog and making money through theirs, we've became great friends as we share ideas and helping each other along the way!

If you're already an active blogger yourself? Ever thought of earning money through your blog? Get your blogs approved byPayperpost and start earning your first USD10! I can guarantee you won't regret ;)

But before you start registering, you might want to read about the PPP's word of mouth ethics first ;)

As for me, my dreams came true. I bought myself a domain and the rest of the dough? Haha..I'm going to reinvest! Join me?

Turning Garage Into A Kitchen

I was just talking to Judy yesterday that I've too many things in my kitchen. If you're at my kitchen and you see everything double, don't worry...it's not your eyes. I have everything in pairs. Two ovens, two stoves, two cake mixers, two blenders and well, I've two over sized fridge too! The reason was because I'm in the catering business and I'm just too worried that my equipments let me when on the very last minute! My kitchen is very packed and messy now and my darling had a brilliant idea which is to convert my garage into a second kitchen. GuyCarGarages.com is able to help convert garages into a an additional workplace at our homes. Are you planning to convert your dusty garage into a chill out room for your friends? How about converting it into a library? Or some might only want to add in more cabinets and refurbish the existing garage? Well, check out the website for more details!

All WORK and No PLAY Makes Carol a dull girl

My cousin Carol who's staying alone in Australia called and told me that she's basically living a robotic lifestyle lately. All she could think of is work and deadlines to meet! Guess what? She even woke up on a Sunday morning thinking it was already Monday.

She jumped out of bed, dressed up and drove all the way to the office. Parked her car, took the lift to her office unit and realised that the main door was locked. Still thinking why everyone else is so late that day, she walked down to hunt for the building's maintenance guy for the keys to her office. She was shocked to to be told that it was actually the weekends by the security guard downstairs. Well, it's kinda embarrassing huh?

I told her she definitely needs a break but she told me she's too tied up at the moment for a long holiday. I suggested city breaks. Just a few days away from work would definitely help her to recuperate from her overly stressed up lifestyle. To minimize the stress of arranging for an air ticket, I will be helping her to book her air tickets via DialAFlight to Hong Kong for 3 days. She will be flying over to Kuala Lumpur to meet me for a day or two. Next, both of us will be flying together to Singapore for another round of retail therapy before she returns to Australia.

If you're interested to arrange for a city breaks at the convenience of a mouse click, check out DialAFlight for all the holiday offers in their website. You can even make a call to speak to their travel consultants. They are there to assist you and making sure that your dream holidays are fulfilled!

A stress-free Christmas shopping

It was just like yesterday I was galloping from one departmental store to another trying to hunt for the best gift for my love ones. Christmas is a time of giving, I just can't simply pick a chocolate at a nearby convenient store right? Oh the hassle of last minute Christmas shopping, the traffic, the crowd and not forgetting the price hike! I'm not sure about you guys but when I'm stressed, I can't pick a proper gift!

Texty makes editing as easy as ABC

As a amateur Blogger like myself, I tend to edit my blog contents far too many times. It could be a spelling error, HTML coding mistakes, making adjustments to alignment or maybe adding another link to my post. At times, I find it tedious to open up the HTML page over and over again just to add in a line or two into my post. I'm now using a simple content management and syndication tool from texty.com. The text editor is so user friendly. All I have to do is enter my text, copy and paste it on my blog. It will even test for coding issues for me! Isn't that marvelous?!

Now, with the help of texty.com ,I've no problem updating and editing my blog anymore!

Bringing the elderly on a vacation...

You should have looked at the sparks on my grandfather's eyes the moment my dad told him about the news that my sister and I will be accompanying him to Taiwan this coming October for a vacation.
I remembered when I was a little girl, my grandparents are always on the go! He used to travel around the world with grandma who loves to travel as much as him. Both of them will sign up with the tour agencies and travel across the globe for weeks. Occasionally, grandparents will even tag me along on short distance vacations. How blessed am I!

Few years back, grandma had a leg surgery and she's having difficulty walking for years. As for grandpa, due to his commitment to take care of grandma, he stopped travelling. We knew deep inside his heart, he still loves to see the world.

So, of course sister and I was really happy that we've the privilege to bring our dear grandpa to go on vacation again but we're just worried. We don't really want to join a tour. Grandpa is just too old to wake up wee early in the morning and walk for hours. He gets tired after a long walk, how can he cope with the rest of the energetic tourist in the group? To those who has been on a tour before, you'll understand what I'm trying to tell here. We're not sending grandpa on a army camp. We want him to enjoy this trip the relaxing way. So, I'm doing a little early preparation here to customise a trip that suits an elderly. Let's forget about joining a tour, we're heading on a free and easy trip.

I'll be making my flight bookings, car rental and Hotel Reservations through HotelReservations.com. I was doubly happy when I found out that the hotel rates are very reasonable.
We will also be renting a car during our stay in Taiwan. I remember how grandpa enjoyed his ride during our recent trip in London. So, I'll be doing the same this coming trip. I believe grandpa can take his own sweet time enjoying the scenic view of Taiwan as our philosophy is "Got map can travel".
With HotelReservations.com, I believe it's going to be a stress free and pleasant journey for the three of us.
Oh by the way, I really need to remind you that they're also giving away rebate coupons for hotel bookings and gas rebates for car rental.

Systems Effectiveness Associates, Inc.

One could safely say a successful company has many satisfied customers. For product manufacturers, the quality and reliability of their products determine the number of satisfied customers.

In view of this, product manufacturers often expend many resources to test their products prior to releasing them to the public. With cost and schedule constraints, these in-house reliability tests may not be able to fully test these products to their limits.

The specialists at Systems Effectiveness Associates, Inc. are able to offer cost effective solutions to overcome these drawbacks. One of their solutions: halt testing, is able to place the product in various tests to determine all possible failure scenarios. The evaluation and recommendation report garnered from these tests would be invaluable for manufacturers hoping to improve their operations and sales.
