When Exes meet...

........and when it's not a case of betrayal... Ohh sorry, I mean EX COLLEAGUES!

We talked about the good old days [awww...we were young and naughty at work back then..heh!]. My 3 years together with NCR Malaysia was the best working years in my life because where else in the world you can find a group of fun loving young man and woman, working together as a team serving one of Malaysia's bank with the most ATMs without pulling each other's hair when things go wrong..ok ok...we did pull a little! ahemmm... I miss the laughters, the tears and the jokes we threw at each other. We sang and we cheered each other up whenever our team members were 'stewed' by the banks or our superiors when we screw up the ATMs haha...

Years and years ago...

We were watching the transaction flows on hundreds and hundreds of ATMs around Malaysia through our Pentium II computers, ordering cash from Bank Negara in the evenings, checking for cash discrepencies from rolls and rolls of toilet paper transaction slips! Some poor souls like me and Uncle Loke were on a standby [with a pager and cellphone] just incase ATMs were being robbed or vandalised. Some were handling the ATM locks, some were handling the software upgrades, a few were required to coordinate and assign task to the engineers to all the faulty 'FCCK' and 'FCUK'. Don't laugh...that's how we 'nick' those ATMs and CDMs -with 4 letter words!

When you see the ATM was out of cash and out of service 5 years ago...hah! ...

WE'RE SORRY!

The jokers great people behind the ATMs and CDMs ..

This is SS2 LOKE

Because it was Emi the preggy mommy's birthday!
[photo posted with birthday gurl's approval]

So sad to hear that she's leaving us after her confinement beginning of next year because she needs to spend more time with her boy boy and hopefully the new born baby girl. Sigh, who's going to "gaduh"[quarrel] with me when she leaves jek!!!

Anyway, all the best to you and may you have a smooth-h-h-h-h delivery.

Happy Birthday!

Psst.... do you like those flowers? The florist belongs to Emi's sister. Check out her website @ Dreaming Daisies....but as for the chocolates...you need to get them from Patchi..? This is not a paid post so, go search at Google lah!!

Steamed Lekor?

I realized that there are no locals in my present company. No one was born in Kuala Lumpur. We studied here, we looked for a job here in Kuala Lumpur and a few found a partner here and trapped settled down. The best time of the year is when everybody return to our respective hometowns for a long festive break and return with all the best snacks from our small towns and cities.

I've tried sweet dumplings, kuihs and noodles from Sabah, Tambun biscuits from Penang Island and Sungai Petani, Roti Pa-ung and prawn crackers from Terengganu and local cakes from Malacca. Of course, the Ipoh girl [me lah!] will usually return with bags of "Kacang Putih" or Murukku, Crispy Lou Poh Peng (Wife biscuit), egg tarts and Sak Keh Mah (Crispy egg biscuit with molasses).

But yesterday, a colleague from Teregganu brought something very unique...

Steamed lekor
(It is made of ikan parang (herring), tamban (sardine-like fish) and selayang (decapterus russellii).

I've seen stalls in Kuala Lumpur selling deep fried lekor chips but I've never seen steam ones. According to my colleague, these are the best steam lekor in Terengganu and you need to order in advanced. These 3 inch babes are NOT cheap....RM0.50cents each ler!!

Suck it!?

"Suck Harder to get the sugar". That's what my colleague said to me 5 minutes ago as she placed 4 tubes of Korean sweets on my table (the 4th tube is in my mouth now). Its the size of those straws that comes along with your Vitagen/Yakult drinking yogurt and the length is about 3 inches long. Aitelyou, eating these sweets require lots of suction power!

I'm curious to know who came out with such idea but I'm pretty sure this person loves chewing straws..

Ishh...I can already hear my neighbouring cubicle bragging that she found a way to suck these straws the proper way to get more sweets out of the tube.... d'oh!

Have a great weekends!
