Finally....a Chinese Dinner @ Home
Since I've the whole day to myself with nothing else to do except kay poh chi-ing other blogs and checking for sponsored post [which turns out none from sponsors today!!], I made a point to cook a typical Chinese meal for X-T and yes... Judy...I'm cooking RICE today! woot! Haha
Claypot chicken rice
[I used skinless chicken and replaced white rice with 10 grain rice... less guilt? hehe]
Claypot chicken rice
2 whole chicken legs - RM7.00
1 extremely thin slice of Mui Heong salted fish - RM3.00
Dried Mushrooms - estimated RM 2.00
Spring Onions - RM1.00
Siu Cheong [Chinese sausages] - RM3.00
Total: RM16.00
Sigh...rice, Chinese cooking wine, ginger and all the seasoning belum kira leh!!
ABC Soup
Pork Bones -RM7.00
Carrots, Potatoes, Tomatoes and Onion - RM4.00
Total: RM11.00
Vegetables
Lettuce -RM4.00
Total: RM4.00
ESTIMATED GRAND TOTAL: RM31.00(Remember ar, rice, seasoning, gas, electricity & water belum kira)
"Chap Farn" or economy rice sold outside only cost MYR3-5 per pax ler!!!
I guess there's only two reasons why I should continue cooking at home:-
- Less oil
- Less MSG
Sigh...

If in Penang I think I can do it with just RM20 lor. Maybe things in KL are more costly. More clean leh. Lagi with love wor. It's that price liau lor............. Are they happy with your cooking? Tai toh lan lar, correct or not?
Cannot compare home cooking with outside food. Yours jan choi sat liu mar... summore must taste different. It's cooked with less MSG and little more dash of love..:-P
Hey, did X-T gained weight eversince you're together? Jsut curious. lol
Erina: Yeah, vege and meat near my housing area is quite expensive.
Are they happy with my cooking? Erm..donno lar but I can guarantee "siak eh pah" lor.. hehe
Helen,
X-T didn't gain any weight eversince we met, in fact..there might be possibility that he lost some weight too because his gf is too active, cannot stay diam diam at home. Always want to go out shopping... hehe...
Helen,
Btw... X-T increased his badminton sessions - missing sessions would make him feel miserable. Ngek... ngek...
Depends on what ingredients you buy for that dish...if normal vege and meat only won't cost that much la...
drool..slurp..slurp..like yr claypot rice...ABC soup (my favourite soup)...but yr vege looks a bit overcook...a nice change from all salads..chinese food takes more effort to prepare..but good nutrition..
Mmm..looks yummy..
So how did you lose your weight? Is it a lot? Got tips ah? I very fat la...
Hi Jasmine,
Yes, vege was overcook because my eyes was hooked to the idiot box :p hehe
Hi Sue,
Erm, you can check Self Improvement section to know how fat I was hehehe...
Easy to lose weight ler... just gym at least 3 times a week, 1-2 hrs a day and have salad for dinner..
i agree with erina, cooking homecooked food is done with lots of TLC (tender loving care)..and the person who eats it, understand that the person who cooks it has put in alot of time, love and 'sweat'! hehe :) (thats y i sometimes made sure hubby see me wash and cut and cook and everything lah, so he knows its not EASY job) :P
Goodness. 2nd blogger that put me to shame. Your claypot LOOKS DIVINE!!! XT is so LUCKY! I am really a lousy cook.
Hi Winnie,
True..true :)
But me and X-T usually split the responsibilities..I cook, he wash.
Michelle,
Darling, practice makes perfect...I used to set fire in the kitchen and end up serving bake beans straight from the can ...
