How far can kids remember about their past?

My dad used to say I've an elephant's memory. I can remember events and things that had happened during my childhood days as young as 4 years old. I remember my first day at kindergarten and how I told my mom to go home and only return to pick me up after school. Yeah, I was pretty tough and boyish when I was younger ;). I remembered my first day at piano class and how my teacher used to treat me with goodies after classes. I can still remember how mom used to punish me when I misbehave. How about you? Can you recall?
