Ole Sayang Restaurant, Malacca
Ole Sayang is one of the top recommended Peranakan restaurant located at Taman Melaka Raya and GOODNESS me! I've been to Malacca for so many times..it's almost like once a year since the age of 6 and I've never heard of this restaurant before.. *evil grin..*
Yesterday, we drove to Muar in the morning to attend X-T's colleague's "Kenduri". After lunch, we dropped by Malacca for a few hours of site-seeing. Before leaving the historical city at night, X-T braved the traffic jam and gave me a another surprise... Yeah! .. At last, an authentic Peranakan meal after a tiring afternoon at Jonker's Walk.

Don't play play...the minute you step into this restaurant, you'll be greeted by photos of the Seet ancestors. Remember ar..no Seet photos means you're at the wrong restaurant :0.
The interior was also decorated with old furniture. Perfect ambiance for a good Peranakan meal..
Clockwise:
Rice in pretty baskets,
Fried Kangkung with dried Shrimps,
Chicken cooked with rempah (sorry ar..I can't remember the name of this dish)
Assam Fish (two thumbs up!)
If you're there, please remember to try out their Chendol with kacang. **One of the best chendol I ever had**
P/S: I've just got to know they serve pretty good Nyoya otak-otak.. Oh well, maybe next time ;)

WOW..You went to Ole Sayang? That's a 100% tourist spot. You can see buses of people exiting into the restaurant during weekends or school holidays.
But well, the next time you go to Melaka, maybe I can introduce another place that serves really good authentic Nyonya cuisine too.. :p

so far when we were in Malacca we ate the assam pedas but cant remember the name of the shop and chicken rice selling by chinese muslim which until today my boys still asking us to bring them again...
for nyonya food i like to eat at Mum's Place near the Damansara Perdana if i was not wrong....

Ok, I'll let X-T know. Maybe we'll hunt for Mum's Place when we've the mood for Nyonya food.
L'abeille, the restaurant's called Auntie Lee's and seriously, they serve excellent home-cooked nyonya cuisine. Superboyfriend loves it a lot too and we would most definitely drop by this restaurant every time we're in Malacca. It's abt 5 minutes drive from Ole Sayang. :)
Original way of serving the rice. I guess the hot rice will bring out the banana leave flvour in the rice.
