My little heaven

I've found a little heaven on earth. A place to call home for a while & a place to ease my mind.

Right infront of my house, there's a very beautiful arch. Just walk through the arch and you'll find a cute little bridge bringing you towards a beautiful park facing the semi-D houses.

One fine evening when I feel like taking a dip at the river...I saw this sign!! cheh...

The gals in my office is planning to have a "girly slumber party" real soon right here in my new place, it's gonna be BBQ-ing all night long with chicky wings, long sausages and good laugh...Yarp, it's for gals only this time..no guys ...Cheeersssss!!!!!

La Bodega Tapas & Vinos

Today marks another sad day in my calender...8th Feb 2006 7:00am and Darren is leaving for Singapore to work for good. Two days ago, Ally and I celebrated his departure by visiting La Bodega for some tapas... Drinks was heavenly, food was good, I love the selection of music...waiters were also kinda "leng chai" opps..haha. . Oh by the way, if u wanna have more choices of tapas, make sure you go to the right one at Jalan Telawi 2, Bangsar and not the one at Bangsar Shopping Centre..

Darren, Ah Bee wishes you all the very veli belly belly best in whatever you do..!

I'm a Mazda RX-8!

You're sporty, yet practical, and you have a style of your own. You like to have fun, and you like to bring friends along for the ride, but when it comes time for everyday chores, you're willing to do your part.

Heng Heung Cake Shop @ Yuen Long, Hong Kong

Sweet heart cake (老婆餅 or lo po pang) taste so nice..sigh..should have bought more!!!!

Since Valentine's day is coming, I need to tell you lovers out there a love story...Geez..how i love stories about "faithful" relationships...here's the story I "cetak rompak" from Wikipedia..

"A long time ago in feudel China, there was a couple that lived a very poor life. They loved each other and lived in a small village. Suddenly, a mysterious disease spread. The husband's father became very sick. The couple spent all of their money in order to treat the man's father, but he was still sick. The wife sold herself as a slave in exchange for money to buy medicine for her father-in-law.
Once the husband learnt about what his wife did, he made a cake filled with winter melon and with a crispy crust. His cake became so popular that he was able to earn enough money to buy his wife back."

Sigh...so sweet hor..I mean the relationship...not the biscuit!!

When Life gives you lemon....go vacation...

This Chinese New Year, I landed up relaxing in Hong Kong..The "bitch" oppsss I mean beach was so clean, the air was cooling (between 16-20 degrees). Food was great, shopping was cheap..

Here's a little preview of the little beach I went to in the afternoon for a little relaxing therapy...

Saw a real mandarin orange tree for the very first time...

Relax For a While and tried Hong Kong's all time favourite milk tea, pork chop sandwich and "sai tor see".

Visited Mickey & friends @ Hong Kong Disneyland...This picture was taken outside the 3D cinema. The 3D sensearound was greattt!! you can really feel water droplets splashed on your face and smell the cakes shoves right under your nose. Feel the wind as you fly on the magic carpet..

It's not the end of "My Life Journey"

Just days before my birthday 2 weeks ago, I heard the saddest news. News that will turn my life around, something that kills my passion, something that wakes me up and look at people and life differently. My dreams and my hopes were shattered into thousand pieces. I was betrayed, accused and the pain in my heart is somehow unbearable. Suddenly, I questioned God..."WHY? Why me?, Why us?"

2 weeks has gone, can't deny that the big "question mark" is still lingering in my head but I can say that God has been there for me throughout my life journey, especially during moments like these. When I've finally hit the rock bottom, I see true friends who will walk the distance for me, friends that will cry along with me, friends that keeps my spirit going when I am so down and depressed, thanks Darren for waking up early morning just to help me with my "stuff", Ally for bringing me nice places just to make me eat and giving me an "Oscar" everytime I am able to finish at least 1/4 of my meal. My parents for being there with me. I would like to thank all family and friends who came all the way to help me, hear me cry and hear me bla bla in the middle of the night...I just can't thank all of you enough!

Thought I am uncertain with my future now, but I believe what I went through is a life lesson and I trust God that everything is well taken care of...

I am feeling better now but still hurting. Time will heal my pain...I will be away for a while to ease my mind...

Lots of love to share,
Shereen aka Ah Bee

Indulgence, Ipoh

PART ONE (The Dinner)

My parents & sister decided to give me a surprised early birthday celebration while I was holidaying in Ipoh and this time..it was the "talk of the town" restaurante...The Indulgence.

Surprisingly, the service was pretty good....I heard rumours saying that the waitress are quite rude...Nah, they proved me & YOU wrong....I was actually impressed on both the night's dinner and the Saturday brunch..(yaya...I went there again for breakfast..that's how good the food was). When I asked the waitress about the "special menu" of the day, wah..you know what? She carry the whole 60cmX40cm blackboard over to our table and show me the list of food....

First came the bread basket & our appetizer called The Ruby...

Dad ordered Bodain or something like that lar...it's actually German sausages cooked with peaches and pear...yummiee..

Mommy ordered Chicken Nachos..few patties of spinash pancakes topped with an egg, chicken on screwers...nothing special but taste perfecto!

Sister ordered baby veal with mango pickles on the side, if you remove the layers of veal, you'll find potatoes and brinjals...the meat was cooked to perfection!!!!

Mine? I had Goose punya Foie Gras with pouched egg, showered with truffle oil...the taste? Priceless

After dinner, we had 2 tiramisu...that's the signature dessert at Indulgence... Don't leave without this little piece of heaven...

Finally, I had "The Fluffy" and no I did not eat my favourite poochie for dinner lar...it's actually the name of the coffee the lady boss gave...which is actually Espresso with chocolate sprinkles...so keng, after drinking, slept at 3am..

3 hungry aliens gazing at the cakes and pastries... I shoo...the aliens away & have a closer look at the cakes...No wonder the aliens were gazing at the cakes ler....it looks so yummie...even earthlings like me and you will never resist.

The Wine Room

The entrance to the dining area

Here's the present papi and mami bought for me...Tengkiu papi mami, they really know what their baby daughter need wor, 20 years ago, they bought me Johnson and Johnson baby lotion set...now leh, won't work for me anymore.....yeah Ah Bee's face need special treatment liao , need double dose of SKII treatment water.... sob sob..

PART TWO (The Breakfast)

Had breakfast again on Saturday at Indulgence. A cosy breakfast room..

The colour of their coffee sets are so bright and colourful...

Here comes our breakfast.

And the cheese platter...

Now you see it...

Now you don't...

The conclusion of this Indulging experience @ Indulgence was:-
1) Service was good
2) Food was delicious
3) It's value for money...though it's abit pricey for Ipoh standard...
4)Ah Bee actually dig her folk on every plate that was landed on her table..

4 days 3 nights beakaway...

Last minute plans was made by Ah Bee to return to Ipoh for a 4 days 3 nights stay for a little "siok sendiri" vacation. Packed my little sister along with me and here I am, enjoying all the food, the comfort of my bed, the afternoon naps, drinking mocha in the middle of the night and stop thinking about work for a little while.

I have so many photos to share when I return to KL....as for now... "Maria...... white coffee ice...kaw kaw satu mali!!!"
